Last updated: 14 October 2026. This policy explains what Leinster Insider collects, why, and your rights. We keep data collection to a minimum.

What we collect

We only hold what you give us or what is needed to run the site:

  • Your email address, if you subscribe to the newsletter or use a form on the site. We use it only to send what you asked for.
  • Anything you type into the contact form (your name, email and message), so we can reply.
  • Aggregate, anonymous usage statistics (pages viewed, referring site, country) via Plausible Analytics and PostHog. Both are cookieless and cannot identify you.

Public records we republish

Some of what we publish comes from official public registers, not from you:

  • Property Price Register: individual sale records (address, price, date) are published by the PSRA under statute. We show up to 8 recent sales per town alongside town medians.
  • Planning applications: from the DHLGH national planning applications dataset. We show the planning reference, a description of the works, the status and a link to the council file. We do not publish applicants' names as a field; we are removing any that appear inside descriptions.

Lawful basis: we republish these records under legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), meaning public-interest information about local housing and development, drawn from public registers.

How to object: under Article 21 GDPR you can object to this processing. Email info@leinsterinsider.ie and we will respond within 30 days.

Cookies

We do not use tracking or advertising cookies. Our analytics tools, Plausible and PostHog, are privacy-friendly and cookieless: PostHog runs on EU servers, keeps no cross-page tracking identifier, and only ever holds data in memory for your visit. A small amount of data may be stored in your browser (for example your saved town shortlist), but it stays on your device and is never sent to us.

Who processes your data

We use a few trusted providers, each GDPR-compliant, only for the purpose named:

  • Netlify, hosting the site and receiving form submissions.
  • Resend, delivering the newsletter you subscribed to.
  • Plausible Analytics, privacy-friendly, cookieless site statistics.
  • PostHog, privacy-friendly product analytics, EU-hosted and cookieless.
  • Google Workspace, our email inbox, for replying to you.

We never sell, rent or trade your information.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us to show you the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it, at any time. Every newsletter has a one-click unsubscribe link. To make any request, email info@leinsterinsider.ie and we will act on it promptly.
