About this data
Figures are the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage's Residential Zoned Land Tax Final Map for 2026, read directly from its published map service. Hectares are the site area recorded on the map, not a parcel count: a council can have thousands of small parcels and fewer hectares than a council with far fewer, larger ones. Town totals assign each mapped site to the nearest town we track within 5 km in the same county; land further than that from a tracked town is counted at county level only. See methodology for house rules.
