The Prodigy at Kilmainham, Chat Pile in Temple Bar and Bluey's Big Play

A noisy, dancey week to see out August, plus a matinee for the little ones

August is nearly done and the weekend’s packed, from tiny orphans belting out show tunes to a wall of noise in Temple Bar. The one to circle is The Prodigy out at Royal Hospital Kilmainham next Thursday, open-air and loud. Plenty to sort out first, so here’s what’s on.

Making a night of The Prodigy?

If Thursday’s gig at Kilmainham turns into a late one, or you’re travelling in for the weekend’s run of shows, it’s worth booking a bed nearby rather than chancing the last bus home. A room within walking distance takes the stress out of a busy August week in town. Find a Dublin stay for the week

If Sunday is still open, Kilcullen is worth the drive. The 24th Mac and Norman Vintage Tractor Rally leaves Sully’s yard (W91 W351) at 1pm on 16 August, with registration from 11.30am and an auction after the run.

It is in aid of the Irish Cancer Society, and watching the run go out costs nothing. To register a vehicle, call Trish on 087 350 3494, or see the rally’s Facebook page.
